This free webinar will present the findings from the first year of CPD monitoring under the revised ICAEW CPD Regulations. Liz Shaw, Senior Quality Assurance Manager, and Karen Cook, Quality Assurance Manager, will present key findings from our reviews of the CPD records of members and firms. We will also highlight good practice examples and offer practical guidance. This is a good opportunity to review your understanding of the recently updated CPD requirements as we approach the start of the 2025-26 CPD year and as we continue to cycle through our CPD monitoring activity.

Karen Cook, Manager, Quality Assurance Department, ICAEW Karen joined ICAEW in 2018 from a Big Four firm. Since then, she has undertaken quality assurance monitoring visits to firms of all sizes from sole practitioners to Big Four with everything in-between. Karen’s current responsibilities include audit review work at firms based in Gibraltar and Cayman. She oversees visits performed by the Quality Assurance Department and has most recently carried out both CPD visits to firms and member CPD reviews.

Liz Shaw, Senior Manager, Quality Assurance Department, ICAEW Liz has worked in the Quality Assurance Department for the past 18 years. She is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with previous audit experience at a Big Four firm in the UK. Liz leads a team of reviewers who carry out audit, practice assurance, DPB and probate monitoring visits to all sizes of UK firms, including Big Four. She is also responsible for monitoring compliance with the ICAEW CPD Regulations, as well as being involved in third party and overseas contracts.

CPD

ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 1 hour of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
