WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
Transition plans are rapidly becoming an expected component of corporate reporting, driven by the UK’s proposed Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS S1/S2, aligned with IFRS S1/S2) and the Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) framework. Finance plays a pivotal role in ensuring that climate ambitions are realistic, resourced, and measurable.

This course gives you a clear, practical approach to developing a TPT-aligned transition plan that links financial strategy with climate objectives — ensuring your organisation is ready for both internal governance and external disclosure requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Outline what a credible, TPT-aligned transition plan includes - and where finance leads or supports.
• Identify your organisation’s current position, including key climate risks, opportunities, dependencies, and emissions context.
• Prioritise near-term ambitions and describe the major shifts expected across your value chain.
• Connect goals to actions, responsibilities, timelines, and indicative resource needs, supported by proportionate indicators.
• Draft a concise plan overview aligned with TPT and the UK SRS/IFRS S2 disclosure landscape.

(Note: this is a practical starter clinic — you’ll leave with a structured outline and prompts, not a full plan.)

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Senior finance professionals - CFOs, Finance Directors, Financial Controllers, FP&A leads - and close partners such as Heads of Sustainability, Risk, or Internal Audit involved in shaping, reviewing, or delivering a climate transition plan.
