Sustainability is now a core business risk. Market pressures, regulation, and physical impacts - from extreme weather to supply chain disruption - are reshaping how organisations plan and perform. The UK’s draft Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS S1/S2, aligned with IFRS S1/S2) and the proposed assurance regime are tightening expectations for credible, finance-led oversight.

This course gives finance leaders a clear, practical method to identify what’s material, assign ownership, and integrate sustainability risks and opportunities into plans, budgets, and reporting - improving decision-making, not just disclosures planning and performance.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• Explain how sustainability risks and opportunities affect strategy, value, and financial performance.
• Navigate the emerging UK SRS / IFRS S1–S2 landscape and identify what Finance needs for reliable information and oversight.
• Apply a proportionate materiality approach using both financial and impact lenses to focus effort and record rationale.
• Show how material topics are identified, assessed, owned, and reviewed within your organisation’s risk-management framework.
• Integrate sustainability priorities into planning and performance by embedding them in budgets, forecasts, and management reporting.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Senior finance leaders and close partners responsible for embedding sustainability within risk management, strategic planning, and performance - including CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, FP&A leaders, and Heads of Sustainability or Risk.
