About the speakers

Rebecca Benneyworth MBE FCA

Rebecca trained in London with Kidsons and on qualifying spent some time as chief accountant of a manufacturing company. She now has her own small practice in Gloucestershire with a client list that comprises owner managed businesses and small companies. She lectures extensively for a range of professional bodies, accountancy firms, commercial organisations and HM Revenue and Customs.

Stephanie Henshaw FCA

Stephanie is the firm’s Head of Audit and Technical Partner, having joined PKF Francis Clark in 2008 after 14 years as Technical Partner in a Top 20 firm. She has a particular interest in effective narrative reporting and corporate governance, and provides practical support and guidance to AIM listed companies, large groups and charities.

Stephanie has overall responsibility for audit quality and professional standards. She also acts as the ‘second partner’ for many of the firm’s most prestigious clients. Stephanie enjoys finding pragmatic solutions to seemingly complicated problems, providing support across a range of clients and working alongside tax and corporate finance on reconstructions and acquisitions.

Stephanie was one of the founder members of the ICAEW Financial Reporting Faculty which was established to provide practical support for preparers of financial statements and chaired the Faculty Board for nine years until May 2021. This gave her input into the development of financial reporting standards and an insight into the practical problems of implementation, both for UK GAAP and IFRS.

Stephanie is also an experienced and highly regarded presenter. She is a regular speaker at the firm’s Finance Director and AIM seminars and has presented or participated as a panel member at a wide range of ICAEW financial reporting events.

Stephanie chairs the Audit and Risk Committee and sits on the board of a local housing association, giving her practical experience of governance, risk management and audit from the ‘other side’

Peter Herbert FCA

Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with an international accountancy firm before working in industry. He has over 20 years of training experience and is a founding director of Insight Training. Peter specialises in financial reporting, auditing, practice regulation and company law, as well as commercial awareness and business skills. He has a small practice, providing advice to mid-tier and small accountancy practices on aspects of accounting, auditing and practice regulation.
