This session provides a detailed walkthrough of the 2019 SRA Accounts Rules, including key principles, definitions, and the responsibilities of Reporting Accountants in identifying and reporting breaches. It will explore the supporting guidance on high-risk areas such as taking costs, residual client balances, acting as a banking facility, client’s own accounts, and client account interest. Attendees will gain insight into the essential controls law firms must implement, common breaches observed in practice, and the critical role of the COFA in maintaining compliance. Practical examples and current guidance will be used throughout to support understanding.

How are the courses delivered?
All the Essentials CPD courses are run by live webinar on Zoom. Once the live date has passed the courses are available as on demand recordings.

What is the total running time of theses courses?
Total running time for the live webinars are 2 hours and 20 minutes.
The live webinars are split into two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute comfort break in between and ending with a 30 minute Q&A session with the speaker.

How do I attend a live webinar?
Once you've booked on you will receive an email with your booking confirmation, one week before the live event you will receive the zoom registration link and further joining instructions.

How do I access the course slide deck?
The course slide deck will be shared a few days before the course date.

What if I miss the live date?
The live webinar will be recorded and offered as an on-demand recording within 24-48 hours of the live session finishing.

Can I watch the recording after attending the live course?
No, delegates can either attend the live session OR have access to the on demand recording, not both.

Do the courses on this programme count as verifiable CPD?
Yes these courses contribute to 2hrs 10mins of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

Can I share the links and watch the courses with a colleague?
One booking allows for one delegate to attend or watch the on demand recording.
