About the chairs

Jonathan Carr | Director and Co-owner of Gravitate Accounting

Jonathan Carr is Director and Co-Owner of Gravitate Accounting, a Sheffield based practice that combines cutting-edge technology and accounting innovation with decades of combined experience to provide a service that is both reassuring and bold for growing businesses.

An ACA Chartered Accountant, Jonathan specialises in the digitalisation of accounting and finance, driving efficiency and deploying automation to save clients time, stress, and money.

Outside of Gravitate, Jonathan plays golf regularly and is a 5th Dan Master Instructor in Tae Kwondo.

Howard Freeman | Audit and Accounts Partner | Shorts Chartered Accountants

Howard Freeman is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser who joined Shorts as Audit Partner in 2003, following almost 11 years in the audit and advisory team at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Howard is a previous President of the Sheffield & District Society of Chartered Accountants and currently sits on two national committees at ICAEW, including the Technical Advisory Committee. He offers comprehensive, commercial, and practical advice to a wide range of clients, including SMEs, family-owned businesses, charities, partnerships, and individuals.

As a registered auditor, Howard not only provides accountancy and taxation guidance but also takes pride in maintaining regular contact with clients throughout the year; acting as a trusted adviser and sounding board, offering timely and relevant advice whenever needed.
