Critical Skills series - Microsoft Excel GROUPBY/PIVOTBY replace traditional PivotTables

One of Excel’s biggest releases this decade without a doubt has been the GROUPBY function which can replicate a PivotTable via a function offering several benefits:

• They refresh automatically without having to click.
• Do new functions like median or ARRAYTOTEXT which lists out as a comma separated list (e.g. Book customers: Warren, Jane, Linda & Movie customers: Pat, Harry).
• Create custom aggregations like distinct counts, distinct ARRAYTOTEXT.
• They can be used with any chart, PivotTables do not support newer charts like maps, waterfalls, sunbursts etc.
