CHAIR, HERTFORDSHIRE FUTURES; CHAIR, STEVENAGE DEVELOPMENT BOARD

Adrian was awarded an OBE for his services to Business by Her Majesty the Queen in the New Year’s Honours list in 2021. He is the independent Chairman of the Stevenage Development Board and was appointed to that role in March 2020. A lifelong advocate for Stevenage, Adrian led the Board on a funding bid from the Government’s Towns Fund, securing £37.5m - the joint highest contribution received anywhere in the country.

Adrian was appointed to the Hertfordshire LEP Board in 2014 and served as Deputy Chair from 2017 - 2020, completing a full six-year term. Adrian chairs the Hertfordshire Futures Skills and Employment Panel, has championed the delivery of the Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal (HOP) and, in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire, delivered a voluntary network to provide support to businesses during the COVID pandemic.

Adrian is the Chairman and Founder of biz4Biz, an organisation established to support business owners and leaders, as well as a past patron of business clubs, working alongside Hertfordshire MPs and Local Authorities and engaging with local business leaders. Biz4Biz also delivers the Hertfordshire Business Awards.

In 1981, Adrian founded Weldability Sif, which he grew from supplying one branded product in the UK, to many thousands internationally today. In March 2019 Weldability-Sif was acquired by Indutrade AB, a NASDAQ-listed corporation.

In recent years Adrian has been a school and college Governor and Chairman of a multi-academy trust. In his tenure, Adrian established the Weldability-Sif Foundation, a charity that today supports more than 41 Welder-Training Studios across the UK, which have so far delivered 29,000 welder qualifications across levels 1 to 3. The foundation works alongside awarding-bodies, incorporates the services of FE colleges and partners with businesses such as Make-UK and EDF, to address industrial skills pipelining for the UK workforce.

If you cannot attend you can transfer your place to another individual. Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event, and replacement guests will receive the menu choices selected at the point of booking.

Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event date will not be refunded. All cancellations must be made in writing to the Society and sent to the Society Administrator at [email protected]

If the Society cancels the event, our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the fee.
