Event information

Are you an employed Finance Director considering a move into fractional or portfolio work, or already building a Fractional FD career and finding that “being good at the job” is no longer enough? As a Fractional FD, your expertise is no longer a hidden asset inside one organisation - it becomes a business skill that needs to be clearly positioned, communicated and understood by the right clients.

The session will explore how to define a clear and authentic value proposition, avoid common positioning traps, and translate your expertise into a LinkedIn presence that builds trust without oversharing or feeling salesy. You’ll leave with a simple framework for articulating who you help, what problems you solve, and the outcomes you create, alongside practical guidance on content, consistency and standing out in a crowded market.

Designed for FDs at different stages of the transition, the webinar will finish with clear, actionable steps you can take immediately to improve your positioning and visibility.

Reserve your place to gain clarity, confidence and a more intentional approach to building your Fractional FD profile.

Key benefits

  • Learn how to define your USP to give clarity.
  • Translate a USP into a LinkedIn profile that actually works.
  • Plan 3 actions to do this week.

About the speakers

Session Chair: Romesh Jeyaseelanayagam, The FD Consultant
Romesh trained and qualified as an accountant many years ago with EY and then moved on to join Bunzl plc, a FTSE 100 organisation where he gained experience in various senior finance roles. He then pivoted his career to the world of start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs, and has been a full time CFO or FD of some successful growth businesses. One business, a pioneering eco-friendly consumables supplier, increased its revenues by 9 times during his time there. A second business, in student accommodation, grew from 4 employees managing 20 properties to over 600 properties managed by 50 employees in 25 cities across the UK. 5 years ago, Romesh set up The FD Consultant (a collective of part time/fractional CFO Consultants) because he is truly passionate about helping businesses achieve their full potential.

Daniella (Dani) Wainwright FCA, Part-Time FD, Consultant and Portfolio Career Mentor
Dani is a senior finance professional with experience leading in all sizes of businesses from SMEs to FTSE 100 PLCs, and sector experience in marketing, retail, utilities, various tech, gaming and property. She began her portfolio career to give ambitious SMEs access to the highest level of commercial and financially savvy support, as well as to gain more control over her own work/life balance. Having gained so much personally from the transition from Corporate to Portfolio, Dani is now not only passionate about helping SMEs thrive, but also about helping other senior finance professionals access this lifestyle.

Deborah Ogden, Personal Branding & Impact Coach
Deborah Ogden is an award winning, internationally respected speaker on personal branding, visibility and making an impact. Her approach centres around building confidence with an authentic personal brand (be yourself – but make it the best you!) and communicating this to raise profile, visibility and increase impact. Having trained as a solicitor, Deborah has a strong background in professional services giving her an in-depth and real world understanding of the importance of backing up content with strong presentation. Deborah is host of the Podcasts, ‘More Impact’ and ‘On Brand With…’, a short weekly motivational message and personal branding through the stories of her guests. She was recently named Small Business of the Year at the Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards for her ongoing support in helping people, build profile and step up with confidence and impact.
