About the chair

Qun Yang | Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer | Biorbyt

Yang a qualified chartered accountant, starting as an auditor with Deloitte before moving on to investment banking with Goldman Sachs and then Deutsche Bank.

Qun is co-founder and COO of Biorbyt Ltd, a 'Cambridge Fens', an international start-up that provides UK and overseas research labs with antibodies, small molecules, ELISA kits and validated proteins.  Biorbyt also offers research support services, including peptide synthesis and lyophilization.  Qun leads Biorbyt's e-commerce, brand strategy, and international expansion.  In 2021 Biorbyt was recognised for its success, winning the 2021 International Trade Queen's Awards for Enterprise.  That year Qun received personal commendations, being awarded the National Business Woman Award, Asian Tech Star, and WeAreTechWoman 100 Award.

Qun is an active volunteer for local communities.  She is a school governor for Inspire Education Group, including Peterborough College, Stamford College, and Peterborough University Centre.  Having been working in the UK for over two decades, she supports women of Chinese heritage to break the glass ceilings in their careers and beyond as they make a positive impact in society through the UK Chinese Women Connect Association, a charity she founded in 2020.
