It will include:

  • An overview of current tariff developments, including recent changes affecting US trade.
  • An assessment of how tariffs impact businesses, supply chains, and trading decisions.

This webinar is designed to help Finance Teams or their advisers understand tariff exposure and the potential commercial and compliance implications.

About the speakers

Andy Baker, Principal Customs & Trade Compliance Advisor, Strong & Herd
Andy has over 19 years’ experience in freight forwarding and logistics. Covering Airfreight Imports , Sea freight and Road freight logistics. Having worked for various freight forwarders within this period he was responsible for all aspects of logistics and supply chains , customs entries and compliance.

Andy’s expertise covers import and export entries, inventory link ports, NCTS and ETSF warehousing and various customs entry software along with customs audits and compliance.

Chair: Ed Saltmarsh, Technical Manager, VAT and Customs, ICAEW
Ed joined the Tax Faculty in June 2022 as a technical manager focussing on VAT and duties, as well as other indirect taxes.

Ed qualified as a chartered tax adviser in 2017, specialising in indirect taxes, and also has qualifications in customs duties and tax technology. He was previously a senior manager in the VAT team at BDO, where he worked for more than seven years.

Ed manages the ICAEW's VAT Committee (including its Duties Subcommittee), and the Technical and Oversight Committee. He also sits on HMRC's Joint VAT Consultative Committee and Joint Customs Consultative Committee.

CPD hours

ICAEW's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations require a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this event could contribute up to 1hr of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
