Event information

This webinar builds on our October 2024 introductory session Introducing IFRS 18: the new standard on presentation and disclosure in financial statements. IFRS 18, which replaces IAS 1 for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027, introduces significant changes to the structure and presentation of the primary financial statements, along with related disclosure requirements for all entities applying IFRS Accounting Standards.

This session will recap the key requirements of IFRS 18, including the categorisation of income and expenses, new subtotals in the statement of profit or loss, the requirements for Management Performance Measures (MPMs), and expectations around aggregation and disaggregation. Building on this foundation, the webinar then explores the practical issues that are emerging as entities start to consider how the new requirements may apply to their particular facts and circumstances.

The discussion will draw on questions frequently raised by preparers, areas that require judgement and consider relevant developments that help inform how IFRS 18 may be applied in practice. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A with the speakers.

Although not essential, participants may find it helpful to have attended or viewed the recording of the October 2024 introductory webinar, as this session assumes a basic level of familiarity with the standard and is designed to move the discussion beyond the introductory stage.
