Event information

Provision 29 of the Corporate Governance Code requires Boards to review the effectiveness of all material controls, publish a declaration of effectiveness in the annual report and declare any material controls that have not been effective.

It comes into effect for accounting periods beginning 1/1/2026. This webinar will consider the implications for financial services implementing this.

Key benefits
We will cover the following:

  • What is a material control
  • How Boards will satisfy themselves that controls have operated effectively and what financial services can do to inform their Boards
  • Whether assurance is required – and how this interacts with the financial audit
  • Nature of the declaration
  • What financial services need to disclose – and whether confidential information should be released.

This webinar will be followed by an informative Q&A.
