Event information

As part of ICAEW Hong Kong’s AI Series, this practical workshop guides accounting professionals through how GenAI tools and agentic systems can meaningfully streamline their workflow. The session highlights where AI can reduce manual tasks, accelerate reconciliations, support documentation requirements, and augment reporting processes - using readily available public and enterprise‑grade tools that can be customised for real‑world accounting use cases.

Participants will see how today’s AI assistants and lightweight agents can be applied directly to accounting tasks, and what professionals should monitor as the technology continues to evolve. This session is designed to build confidence, expand practical knowledge, and ensure members remain equipped for the rapidly developing AI landscape.

Key takeaways

  • The state of AI agents & GenAI tools: Public & enterprise grade tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, POE)
  • AI-assisted quick wins (tools, prompts, and demos): Reconciliations, variance explanations, supporting documentation, exception handling, reporting
  • Image generation for accounting firms: Marketing, communications, recruitment
  • Future of AI: What should accounting professionals pay attention to as AI evolves?
