Testimonials from 2025 attendees

"This was the best ICAEW event I have ever attended. The speakers were all phenomenal bringing authenticity, openness and able to connect their lived experience to the accountancy profession. The atmosphere in the room was electric and I am so pleased that ICAEW held such an important event - I hope it becomes an annual occasion!"

"Kudos to the Institute for hosting such a wonderful inclusive evening, with insightful and thought-provoking speaker sessions intertwined with a delicious dinner and networking opportunities"

"I am really glad that this event happened and enjoyed it, for the speakers and the other lovely people whom I met. Let's make sure it's not a one-off. While things are going backwards in politics, the ICAEW is in a position to work with minorities to give them a voice and push the other way."

"I had a wonderful time at the Pride Gala, being surrounded by the inspiring LGBTQIA+ community and many allies too. Here's to more events like this in the future - great work ICAEW!"

About the speakers

Colin Jackson CBE
Colin is a true British athletics legend. An Olympic silver medallist and double world champion, his dominance was unmatched. He went an incredible 12 years unbeaten at the European Championships, held the 110m hurdles world record for 13 years, and the world indoor record for 27. Across his remarkable career, he secured 25 major medals, including 12 golds and 8 silvers - a testament to extraordinary talent, consistency and longevity.

Beyond the track, Colin’s charisma and expertise have made him one of Britain’s most loved media personalities and motivational speakers. He is widely regarded as a national treasure and remains one of the most recognisable figures in UK sport. Since retiring, his medal haul and infectious energy made him a natural fit for the BBC athletics team, where he has been a key voice for two decades, covering every major Games from Athens 2004 through to Paris 2024.

In 2024, Colin also became a Legend Ambassador for NatWest, a role he proudly continues today. He is also International Sports Director for the Wings for Life World Run, helping raise vital funds for spinal cord injury research, alongside being a long-term ambassador for Puma and Lead Ambassador for Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions Scheme, supporting elite athletes and inspiring participation at all levels.
