Event information

In this session, we will hear Chris Fitch of Money Advice Trust on how best to deal with vulnerable individuals during the course of an insolvency, be that directors, employees, creditors or debtors.

About the speakers

Chris Fitch, Vulnerability Lead Consultant, Money Advice Trust
Chris Fitch is the Trust’s Vulnerability Lead, and a Research Fellow at Bristol University’s Personal Finance Research Centre. Over the last 13 years, Chris has run a programme of research on vulnerability, financial difficulty, and financial services. This has involved research underpinning the design of the Debt and Mental Health Evidence Form, as well as the first ever UK study of the experience of frontline creditor staff when working with customers in vulnerable situations. In 2016, Chris was named in Credit Today’s top 100 list of influential people working in the creditor sector for the second time.

Victoria Alexandrou, Insolvency Manager, ICAEW
Victoria has over 20 years’ insolvency experience. She has worked in firms ranging from a sole practitioner to one of the Big 4 and completed JIEB in 2011. She joined ICAEW’s QAD department in 2016 as a reviewer, completing both insolvency and practice assurance visits, before being promoted to manager in 2024. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys running, watching motor sports, especially WRC, and is an avid reader.

CPD hours

ICAEW's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations require a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this event could contribute up to 1hr of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role, including the one hour ethical requirement by attending the session on dealing with vulnerable individuals.
