Event information

Building on one of the most highly rated sessions from the 2025 ICAEW Forensic & Expert Witness Community Conference, this in‑person networking event takes a deeper look at the new corporate criminal offence of “Failure to Prevent Fraud”, now that the regime has moved from theory into practice.

With the offence live and organisations actively adapting to the new requirements, this follow‑up session focuses on what is happening on the ground. During the session, the speakers will examine the current state of readiness across businesses, highlighting common challenges and pitfalls that have emerged since go‑live, and outlining what law enforcement expects from organisations in practice. The discussion will also explore how regulatory and enforcement expectations are evolving and what this means for businesses navigating the new offence.

Looking ahead, the speakers will explore the future of financial crime compliance, offering practical insights to help organisations and practitioners stay ahead in a changing regulatory environment.

Speakers will explore:

• How organisations are operationalising fraud prevention frameworks post‑implementation.
• Common challenges, pitfalls, and gaps that have surfaced since go‑live.
• What forensic and expert witness professionals should anticipate as investigations and disputes begin to reflect the new offence.
• How the wider financial crime landscape is shifting and what this means for future expert work.

Designed as an interactive session, this event offers a valuable opportunity to compare experiences with peers, share practical approaches, and strengthen professional networks within the community.
