Event information

Established by Carnegie Council in 2014, Global Ethics Day is an annual moment for individuals and organisations to explore their values and the principles that shape ethical decision-making.

Each year, ICAEW holds an event to mark Global Ethics Day. This flagship event celebrates professional ethics as the “USP” of ICAEW members as professional accountants; and provides attendees with authoritative views from experts and practical insights and strategies for navigating key ethical challenges faced by members in industry and practice.

This year, attendees will have the opportunity to network with speakers and presenters over lunch, and join a drinks reception following the event.

The theme for this year’s event is “Trust in the digital age”.

This event is always over-subscribed. Make sure you reserve your in-person place now to have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers including:

  • Gebriella Figueiredo Dias, Chair of IESBA
  • Lucy Dennett OBE, The Law Society
  • Professor Robert Barrington, Centre for the Study of Corruption, University of Sussex

Why should you attend?

  • Hear directly from the Chair of IESBA, the body responsible for producing the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants.
  • Engage with leading experts in panel discussions and Q&As on key ethical challenges facing the profession.
  • Network with ethics and compliance colleagues over lunch and at the drinks reception.
  • Obtain upto 6 hours of verifiable Ethics CPD.

CPD hours

ICAEW's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations require a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this event could contribute up to 6hrs 30mins of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

A copy of the event booking confirmation email is accepted as evidence of verifiable CPD. Click here to use ICAEW’s self-assessment tool to help you work out how much CPD you will need to fulfil each year.
