About the speakers

Selvarany Rasiah

Selvarany Rasiah, Founder & CEO, Kapital DX
Selvarany is an accomplished and experienced professional with over 30 years of experience in the capital markets space. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kapital DX, (KLDX) a fintech company that is one of only two entities approved by the Securities Commission Malaysia to be registered as an Initial Exchange Offering platform. Under her leadership, KLDX procured approval to establish and operate a fundraising and investment platform powered by blockchain technology.

Prior to founding Kapital DX, Selvarany held several c-suite roles at Bursa Malaysia Bhd, including Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Regulatory Officer, and Chief Legal Officer. Her vast experience in market-driven policies and regulations, sustainability, implementation of technology platforms and business development has provided her with the requisite experience to successfully work on new frontiers in the capital markets.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Malaya and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Her educational background and professional experience have equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and skills that she has applied to great effect in her various endeavours.

Kevin Foo

Kevin Foo, Partner – Head of Financial Services KPMG Malaysia
Kevin has amassed over 20 years of experience in financial services, focusing on audit and assurance. He has led audit engagements of financial institutions and multinational corporations in Malaysia, London, Hong Kong and China. He has also been involved in the external and internal audits of numerous multinational corporations in various industries including retail, manufacturing, technology, banking and insurance companies.

Building on his experience, Kevin has extensive involvement in a variety of accounting advisory work on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He has also contributed thought leadership publications to the Audit Committee Institute (ACI), an initiative sponsored by KPMG to support Audit Committees and Boards with insights and perspectives.

Surendan Seelan

Surendran Seelan, Deals Partner, Performance and Restructuring Deputy Leader​, PwC Malaysia
Surendran is a Partner at PwC specialising in corporate restructuring, insolvency and turnarounds, drawing on PwC's network of industry and financial expertise to help clients navigate crisis situations. He brings over 12 years of M&A experience across the US, UK, France, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam, where he spent close to two years working on deals on the ground. He has advised on some of the largest corporate exercises and private equity deals in Malaysia and abroad.

Surendran began his career at PwC Bristol, spending close to four years in audit and assurance across various sectors. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol, and is a Fellow of ICAEW, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and an associate member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia (iPAM).
