As well as providing practical support with the basic elements such as CV writing, job hunting, networking and interview skills, Chiumento’s work also helps rebuild self-esteem and confidence, two critical ingredients that are often eroded during periods of unemployment.
Speaker: Neil Sampson, one of Chiumento’s Career Coaches, will be at the 2018 Practice event. He has attended the event in previous years and has spoken on key topics such as personal branding and networking. This year he will be hosting private 1-1 sessions and delegates are able to book a 45 minute session with him. During these sessions, Neil will be able to help you think about a plan for your job search and give some pointers to help improve your effectiveness.

Trevor Williams is the former Chief Economist at Lloyds Banks. During his time there he established a highly-regarded, award-winning, team of economists analysing global and domestic data. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Derby, rotating Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs Shadow Monetary Policy Committee (SMPC) and is the author of Trading Economics: A Guide to Economic Statistics for Practitioners (with Victoria Turton). Trevor now runs a consultancy specialising in economic analysis encompassing ‘big data’. In his session, Trevor will move beyond the headlines to uncover what the current situation means for the future economic developments your business.
Vivek Mehan graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University in 1999. He then joined Deloitte in their Assurance department working with FTSE 100 clients. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002, Vivek decided to follow his passion and pursued a highly successful career in professional training and development with some of the UK's leading professional training organisations. In this capacity he has provided training to a wide range of organisations in both the public and private sector. Vivek is an expert in Financial Reporting and in particular IFRS, US and UK GAAP, having delivered courses to thousands of delegates from a variety of industries over his career. Paul Shrimpling's passion for the accountancy profession was forged in his experience of growing, from scratch, a £1m manufacturing business and the lack of help he received from his accountant at the time. Paul bought custom premises, opened a London showroom and expanded into Europe, the Middle East and USA. And on the eve of selling the business to a committed buyer the team walked out to set up their own business making the sale worthless. This business education underpins Paul’s determination to inspire accountants to genuinely be the trusted business advisers to owner managed businesses.
Rebecca Benneyworth is a lecturer, writer and consultant on a wide variety of taxes. She lectures extensively to accountants and business people and also to HMRC and the Treasury. Rebecca is well know for her down-to-earth approach to tax and her ability to make the subject matter both clear and interesting, and she was named Best Tax Lecturer at the Taxation awards in 2007. She also has an interest in all issues affecting smaller practices and has her own small accountancy practice based in Gloucestershire. Rebecca has been Chair of the ICAEW Tax Faculty and she has worked closely with Quantum Professional Training for over 10 years.
Aynsley Damery is a fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and Ireland and has a Bachelor of Commerce honours degree from University College Cork. With his in-depth knowledge of accountancy and tax and his experience of business Aynsley can help increase your profits, lower your tax bills, put more money in your bank account and by working with you on a regular basis, ensure you achieve your business and personal goals. Chris Burton has spent the last 10 years designing and delivering bespoke learning, development and behavioural solutions for a numbers of major clients. These programmes have driven cultural and behavioural change in the organisations for which they were commissioned, improving performance and awareness of effective employee engagement. Prior to setting up his own company, Chris was leading teams that designed and delivered behavioural development programmes to hundreds of managers of varying seniority, up to director level. Chris has a certificate in post-compulsory education, a BA (Hons) in History and English and MA in Theatre Production. Chris previously worked with a professional theatre group and taught drama in the prison service and this is where his career and love of behavioural development support began.
Having studied Economics at Sussex and London Universities, Mark Berrisford-Smith is now Head of Economics for HSBC’s commercial banking business in the UK. He is responsible for advising the Bank in the UK and its business customers on developments in the British and global economies. Within this remit he has taken a keen interest in monitoring developments in the Euro Area, and also China. But more recently, his work has focused on explaining the mechanics and economic consequences of the UK’s decision to leave the EU. He undertakes an intensive programme of public speaking at conferences and seminars organised or sponsored by HSBC. In order to ensure that HSBC’s commercial customers in the UK are as well informed as possible about the issues arising from ‘Brexit’, he spoke at more than 120 such events during 2017.

Adrian Gibbons is the Managing Director of SWAT UK. He joined the company in 1986, having qualified with the East Anglia practice Larking Gowen. Kelly Feehan is CABA’s Service Director, leading the strategic development, management and delivery of all UK and international services to improve the wellbeing of clients and delegates. After training as a solicitor, Kelly previously worked for the probation service handling high-risk prisoners, as a Domestic Violence Reduction Coordinator for local government and as the Manager of a Regional Assessment Centre for Victim Support, developing key skills in assessment, service planning and delivery and line management.
