The Financial Modeling Institute's AFM Accreditation enables you to validate your financial modelling acumen.After viewing the tutorial videos on how to develop best-in-class, effective, transparent and well-structured models, you will write a rigorous, proctored, four-hour exam to validate your financial modelling skills.

The Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) promotes awareness, excellence and discipline in financial modelling globally through its world-class accreditation programs.
The Institute was founded because of the increased need for accounting and finance professionals to strengthen and validate their financial modelling skills.
The world's best financial modelers have collaborated to create the FMI and develop accreditation programs that assure that candidates can build best-in-class financial models. Candidates must pass a rigorous, proctored, four-hour exam to demonstrate their financial modelling acumen.
You will be working towards the exam date listed and it is estimated that it will take around 40 hours of prep to prepare for the exam. Exams are offered virtually.
The FMI’s programs and accreditations are relevant for professionals working in banking, private equity, accounting, asset management, business development, venture capital, and other areas of finance.
ICAEW’s CPD Regulations are changing. From 1 November 2023, members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW will need to complete a minimum number of hours’ CPD per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Attending events like this could contribute up to 40 hours of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

Ian Schnoor, Executive Director, Financial Modelling Institute Ian Schnoor is the Executive Director of the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI), the world’s only financial modelling accreditation body.
Ian is also the founder of The Marquee Group, a leading provider of financial modelling training and consulting to professionals in the financial community. Over the years, Ian has taught thousands of business professionals and university students in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Ian is passionate about teaching and brings a hands-on, interactive approach to every session.
Ian teaches a course called Advanced Financial Modeling at Queen’s University and is a past recipient of the Professor of the Year award in the Master of Finance program at the Smith School of Business.
Ian began his career in the Investment Banking departments at Citigroup and BMO Capital Markets. Ian completed a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree with academic distinction and is also a CFA charterholder.
