Auditing PIEs, listed and larger companies - pitfalls and tips

Audience: Practice

*new course this year*

This update will make attendees aware of the key issues in accounting and auditing and relevant Companies Act legislation, that have taken place over the last year and are anticipated in the future.

The session will focus on issues of particular interest to auditors of Public Interest Entities (PIEs) and larger entities.

This is a topical course and the content will reflect that. The session will cover issues arising in:

  • UK GAAP, with a focus on more complex issues
  • IFRS
  • Relevant FRC guidance and feedback
  • Changes to the definition of PIEs
  • Auditor independence as it relates to PIEs and listed audits
  • Revised ISAs, with a focus on the impact on PIE, listed and larger audits
  • Relevant Companies Act changes

Suitable for: This session is suitable for all auditors of larger companies, listed companies and/or PIEs.

CPD hours: ICAEW’s CPD Regulations are changing. From 1 November 2023, members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW will need to complete a minimum number of hours’ CPD per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Attending events like this could contribute to 2 hours and 10 minutes of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
