WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
Contracts are not just legal paperwork - they are strategic financial instruments that shape value, performance, and risk across every organisation. For finance directors and senior finance professionals, a clear grasp of contract law is critical for:

• Protecting financial outcomes.
• Aligning agreements with strategic objectives.
• Managing and mitigating risk.
• Strengthening negotiation positions with suppliers, customers, funders, and partners.

Delivered by a commercial solicitor with extensive experience training both lawyers and business professionals, this course demystifies legal concepts and terminology. You’ll gain practical skills to read, interpret, negotiate, and manage contracts confidently — enabling you to spot risks early, avoid costly disputes, and ensure agreements support commercial success.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Understand the core principles of contract law in a business context.
• Identify, assess, and manage contractual risk, from negotiation through to termination.
• Read, interpret, and draft contract clauses with confidence.
• Recognise the legal basis and commercial significance of the most critical clauses.
• Apply this knowledge to strengthen negotiation, risk management, and decision-making.
