Event information

This webinar is part of a series, please view the Transformation series topics and dates tab for more information.

In the second webinar of the Transformation series, Neil Cutting will explore the key steps leaders need to consider to develop their transformation programme, and help build momentum quickly.

These include:

  • Gap analysis and strategic decision making (defining your perspectives, maturity levels for budget and business plan time frames).
  • Action planning (developing your schedule, milestones and owners).
  • Measure and manage (board reporting, decision making).
  • Evaluate and improve (periodic continuous improvement).

Professor Adam Boddison and Catherine Myszka will join the panel session to share their experience of transformation programmes. By the end of this webinar, you will have a checklist of steps to consider in designing and delivering your transformation programme.

About the speakers

Neil Cutting FCA, Transformation Director, Oracle Corporation Inc.

Qualifying with PWC, he moved into global finance leadership roles with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Mars and Jacobs Solutions Incorporated. Neil spent 17 years at Jacobs (a Fortune 250 company), where he was VP of Finance. His experience included Divisional CFO, International Accounting Director and Transformation Director. Neil has consistently been drawn towards helping fix business problems which require transformation. This started at PWC in Corporate Recovery, turning around loss making operations at HPE and at Jacobs, fixing failed acquisitions, driving finance function global re-organisations. These experiences enabled Neil to be seconded to the Ministry of Defence to lead the finance transformation programme.

In addition to his international career, Neil has been an active volunteer for ICAEW, including being a member and President of the West of England Board, Chair of the Aerospace & Defence CFO Forum, a member of the Business Committee and in 2023, was elected to ICAEW Council. Neil is passionate about helping business leaders understand simple methodologies for delivering complex transformation programmes, resulting in a series of successful articles for ICAEW and the “Cutting through Boardroom Challenges” series on Accounting Web. He also guest lectures on strategic performance at the University of Bath, one of the top business schools in the UK.

Professor Adam Boddison OBE, Chief Executive Officer, APM
Adam joined APM (Association for Project Management) as CEO in September 2021 having previously held leadership roles in other membership associations, including six years as CEO of the National Association for Special Educational Needs.

In addition to his role at APM, Adam has a diverse non-executive director portfolio supporting organisations and projects that benefit society. In 2022, Adam was awarded the OBE for services to children with special educational needs.

Catherine Myszka, Transformation Director, Culina Group Ltd.
Catherine is an independent Transformation Consultant who works with clients to shape their vision and strategy and then designs transformation programmes to turn them into operational reality. She has an eclectic career, from early digital innovation, via Finance and Transformation to strategy consultancy. Catherine qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked globally in internal audit and risk, before moving into the transformation arena.

Outside of client work, Catherine is an active volunteer and Board member for various chartered bodies including the ICAEW and Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Catherine is involved in both campaigning and advisory for ED&I and understands first-hand the benefits of having diverse viewpoints and perspectives represented in transformation programmes to reduce the risk of groupthink and to ensure that solutions are robust and effective.

Catherine is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Manager, and Chartered Management Consultant, and believes in the value that this breadth of knowledge and experience allows her to bring to bear in the transformation programmes she delivers.
